SoulWalk Unites Local Churches, Nonprofits and Individuals to Reach the World with the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Nashville, Tennessee – (September 8, 2009)- Nashville’s “SoulWalk”, a 5K walk to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, will take place this Saturday, September 12, 2009.  

SoulWalk is a 5K walk to raise money for local and international mission projects. The purpose of SoulWalk is to mobilize Christians to walk and pray for the salvation of family and friends while raising support to share the message of the Gospel around the world. SoulWalk provides a FREE, family friendly event, and fundraiser, for churches and nonprofit ministry organizations. One hundred percent of the funds raised are used to support the mission projects of participating churches, nonprofits and the worldwide evangelistic efforts of SoulWalk; a ministry of Reaching International.

Nearly 2,000 walkers and strollers will travel the streets around the Bicentennial State Capitol Mall in Nashville on Saturday morning. Registration opens at 8:30 AM, stage performances begin at 9:00 AM and the walk begins at 10 AM. SoulWalk is FREE fun for the whole family with Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Inflatables, and Special Guests! 

 SoulWalk is FREE and you don’t have to be on a team to come to SoulWalk – everyone is invited!

“We are excited about our 4^th annual SoulWalk,” says Robby McGee, President of Reaching International. “Our goal is simply to reach as many as we can with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.” McGee hopes to take SoulWalk to a national level next year. “We started here in our own backyard, but my vision is to expand throughout the United States.”

Parking! 

Parking is FREE! Please come early. The streets will be blocked if you come right at 10:00 AM. Please come down 5th and our parking team will help you find a spot. Shuttle service will be provided for those who need help. Download a map now or google your trip.

To help us accommodate everyone attending, please click on “participant login” input your username and password; enter your website management page. Once on your management page, located on the tool bar on the right, you will find a link for “Add a family member.”
 
If you have not already setup your personal page you can also add your photo and a personal message to your page, then begin sending out emails and raising donations. To help you we have created a brief tutorial for you.

Ways to ask people to come walk with you! 

“Let’s all be friends“… become a fan of SoulWalk on Facebook. Be our friend on HisSpace or follow us on Twitter.  If you join us on Facebook or HisSpace you can add our event to your calendar and invite your friends to do the same.

“Spread the Word“… Place SoulWalk flyers everywhere you can. Hand out “Come Walk With Me” cards. Talk about SoulWalk to everyone.

“Share“…share SoulWalk blog posts and photos with your friends on Facebook, HisSpace, and other social sites or via email. Change your profile picture to one of you in your SoulWalk t-shirt. Tag yourself and friends in our Facebook photos.

“E-mail“… send “Join My Team” e-mails from your “Participant Management” page and add a request to the signature line of your email.

 
“Post it“…download the SoulWalk “event info” (PDF), make copies and post them at church, school, work, etc.

 
“Link up“…put a nifty SoulWalk banner or link on your web site, blog, online social space and links list.

 
“Speak it“…change your voicemail greeting to mention SoulWalk – include the “who, what, when, where, why and ask them to come walk with you.

We want to pray for them too. To submit the names of individuals needing prayers for salvation, please add them to our prayer list.

Would You HELP us pray?

Please join the prayer team. Every Thursday leading up to the walk, we will email you a list of names to pray for. We will also meet the morning of SoulWalk corporately pray over the names. 

I am Walking for!

This year we will again provide slips of paper that people can pin to their backs that say “I’m Walking for____________”. You can write in the name of the person or persons you are walking for and wear it on your shirt back. As you are walking, those around you can agree in prayer for the names listed. These signs will be located at the registration tent.
